VISZ Spring Event - 2025
The Association of Management Information Systems (VISZ) held its 2025 spring conference in the Mátra Mountains under the title "Massive Resistance." The event focused on the key players in digital transformation: organizations capable of renewal, their IT leaders, and the technology companies that initiate and implement transformations. The main question of the conference was how to collectively overcome the invisible barriers that slow down the spread of innovative solutions and new technologies, which can take massive roots in us as individuals and in our communities.
The first day of the two-day event was held at the Lifestyle Hotel Mátra in Mátraháza. The program began at 9:30 AM with arrival and registration, followed by the official opening of the conference at 10:00 AM by Róbert Fritsch, President of VISZ. The first day offered a rich professional program, starting with a keynote speech by Dr. Sándor Imre, who provided an introduction to quantum computing. He is the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at BME and the leader of the quantum communication research group.
This was followed by Anna Kádi, Assistant Professor at the ELTE Institute of Psychology, who presented the natural history of organizational resistance. As a continuation of the morning program, Márton Rideg, IT leader of the Integrity Authority, and Sándor Mester, representative of VISZ, shared their resistance experiences in a panel discussion. Before the coffee break, Árpád Pikéthy, Country General Manager of IBM Hungary, gave a presentation on the value of customer trust.
After the coffee break, an interactive section called "The Audience Speaks Up" followed, where participants actively engaged in professional dialogue. After lunch, summaries of the audience discussions were presented, and the professional program continued. András Leveli, Business and Product Development Director of LSK Hungária, spoke about building trust, while Gábor Czuczor, Business Growth Executive at HPE, gave a presentation on the nature of resilient IT.
The afternoon program included a panel discussion on the laws of psychological resistance with the participation of Tatjána Turányi, cyber-psychological and educational consultant, and Sándor Mester. Following the second coffee break, György Ákos, co-founder of TC2, spoke about the myths and reality of cloud migration, with particular attention to security, control, and costs.
The first day of the conference concluded with a roundtable discussion that addressed the nature of massive project resistance and possible remedies against resistance. Participants in the discussion were IT leaders of significant companies: Gábor Heiszmann, CIO of Richter Gedeon; László Tanka, IT Director of MÁV Group's IT Security and Digitalization Directorate; and Lajos Tóth, CISO of NÜSZ Zrt. The conference moderator was Sándor Mester, Content Manager of VISZ.
On the second day of the event, participants visited the B. BRAUN HUNGARY factory in Gyöngyös, where they could learn firsthand about the operation of a modern industrial facility and the technological solutions applied there.
The VISZ spring conference provided an excellent opportunity for professionals to exchange ideas, share experiences, and network, while gaining valuable knowledge about methods to overcome resistance to technological change.
