VISZ - Homo Digitalis, or systems and people
The autumn conference of VISZ (Association of Management Information Systems) was held in Miskolc under the title "Homo Digitalis, or Systems and People." The event focused on the digital citizenship program, which allows us to exercise our civil rights in the digital space to an increasingly broader extent.
The first day began with an opening by Ferenc Gazdag, Vice President of VISZ, followed by Prof. Dr. Zita Horváth, Rector of the University of Miskolc, who presented the institution as "the campus of knowledge and community." This was followed by a presentation by Attila Szendi, Director General of the University of Miskolc Library, Archives, and Museum, on cutting-edge technological solutions used at the university.
During the morning, Zsolt Bányai, Deputy CEO for Digital Solutions at Idomsoft Zrt., delivered a keynote speech titled "Don't Be Afraid to Let Users In En Masse, It Will Be Good..." Balázs Rácsok, Social Director of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid, spoke about the role of informatics in abusive relationships, while Attila Vékony, Technical Sales Team Leader at Invitech Zrt., gave a presentation on telecommunication vulnerabilities.
Following the coffee break, visitors participated in interactive group discussions on various topics, such as digital communication, the role of smart devices in basic education, customer-side difficulties of digitalization, practical application of SOC, and comparison of online and in-person interactions. After lunch, the group leaders shared brief reports on the results of the discussions.
The afternoon session continued with a presentation by Márió Jónás, Technology Consultant at Invitech Zrt., who showcased cloud and data center services in the world of NIS2 through practical cases. András Leveli, Business and Product Development Director at LSK Hungária Kft., spoke about the meeting of innovative people and unique customer needs, while Balázs Péterfi, representative of Syspro Informatika Zrt., explored the topic of independence and sustainability.
After the second coffee break, György Orbán, Principal Solution Architect/Engineer at Hewlett Packard, gave a presentation on helpful AI solutions. Dr. Antal Bódi and Dr. Lilla Luksik spoke about facilitating the use of supercomputers in the HPC EDIH project.
The closing program of the conference was a roundtable discussion, with András Tresch, CEO of Quattrosoft Kft., as one of the participants. The day ended with dinner and an evening program at Hotel Palota Lillafüred.
On the second day, participants visited the HELL ENERGY factory in Szikszó, where they could learn about modern manufacturing processes and technologies firsthand.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity for professionals to discuss the current state and future directions of digitalization, focusing on the human factor alongside systems. Speakers from various sectors offered diverse perspectives on digital transformation, its challenges and opportunities, while emphasizing the importance of innovation and security in this process.
